use Auxiliary method Rcos(x+y) = c where R = √(a^2 + b^2)

use t formula for sin and cosine to solve that question:

sin x = 2t/(1+t^2 ) and cos x = (1-t^2)/(1+t^2) then substitute into your equation then solve for t.

remember: t = tan 1/2(x) the use it to find the value of x then you'r done!! smile
