Factorization:

Some expression may have common number or letter that multiplied by each term in it. For example in this expression 10 + 15, the common number is 5 that multiplied by 2 + 3 and obtained 10 + 5, i.e. 5(2 +3); also in 2x + 6x², here the common number is 2x that multiplied by 1 + 3x i.e. 2x (1 + 3x). so the process of finding and factor out a number is called factorization, and vice versa is expansion.
